17-01-2021
Hello everyone, today i will approach the theme of Amnesty International,Write for Rights that I did with my classmates Carolina Costa and Rafael Ferreira.
Every year Amnesty International invites everyone to help activists who have been arrested or that was wronged for defending human rights by signing the write for rights. This year is no exception! The following 6 cases are presented by Amnesty International:
- Jani Silva: He was born in the Amazon and dedicated his entire life to defending the ecosystem. It is now threatened with death by large oil companies for defending the Amazon.
- Germain Rukuki: He is a human rights activist and defender in Burundi and has been unfairly charged with 32 years in prison.
- LGBT + Solidarity Group: Group of students from Turkey who were doing peaceful events against homophobia at the university until one day the police intervened and arrested 22 students, 18 of whom are on trial.
- Nassima al-Sada: Fighting for women's rights in Saudi Arabia, in 2018 she was arrested, victim of abuse and placed in solitary confinement.
- El Hiblu 3: They are refugees who were rescued by a ship, which threatened them by returning them to the country from which they came (Libya), young people acted calmly defending their asylum rights in living in security, at the moment they are being unfairly accused of serious crimes that could spend the rest of their lives in prison.
- Paing Phyo Min- He belonged to a group of satirical poetry, Peacock Generation. After criticizing the army, he and other members of the group were arrested for urging the army to give up
